ICARUS: Console Edition brings the full survival experience to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, combining the base game with the New Frontiers expansion and several different ways to explore the planet.

Whether you prefer building a permanent base, taking on focused missions, or playing cooperatively with friends, there are multiple ways to survive Icarus.

Explore Olympus and Prometheus

The Console Edition gives you access to two major regions.

Olympus is the original ICARUS map, featuring forests, deserts and arctic biomes filled with dangerous wildlife, resources, caves and locations to explore.

Prometheus, introduced with the New Frontiers expansion, offers a very different environment with volcanic regions, alien landscapes, new creatures, resources and technologies.

New Frontiers is included as part of ICARUS: Console Edition, so you can explore Prometheus without purchasing it separately.

Open World

Open World lets you establish a permanent home on Icarus.

Build and expand your base, explore the map at your own pace, gather resources and complete Operations without having to start from scratch after every objective.

It’s a great option for players who want a more traditional survival experience with long-term progression and building.

Missions

Missions offer a more focused way to play.

Choose an objective, prepare your loadout and drop onto Icarus to complete specific tasks before extracting back to orbit.

Objectives can range from exploration and construction to hunting, resource collection and more dangerous assignments.

Outposts

Outposts provide a more relaxed environment focused on building and experimentation.

With fewer survival pressures, they are ideal for testing building ideas, learning game systems or simply creating a base without the same level of danger found elsewhere on Icarus.

Solo or Online Co-op

You can survive Icarus alone or team up with other prospectors in online multiplayer.

ICARUS: Console Edition supports cooperative play for up to four players, allowing you to build, explore, complete missions and face the planet’s wildlife together.

Progress From Primitive Tools to Advanced Technology

Every prospect starts with the basics.

Gather wood and stone, craft your first tools and shelter, then work your way through increasingly advanced technology.

Over time, you can unlock firearms, electricity, advanced crafting stations, vehicles, farming systems and other equipment that makes survival on Icarus easier.

Orbital Workshop and Exotics

Some of the most valuable resources on Icarus are Exotics.

They can be extracted from the planet and used in the Orbital Workshop to unlock equipment that can be brought with you on future prospects.

This gives you another layer of progression beyond the equipment and structures created during an individual session.

Expand Your Experience

Additional content is also available separately for ICARUS: Console Edition, including the Styx Expansion and cosmetic or companion-focused DLC packs.

These add new regions, creatures, building options and other content for players who want to expand their experience beyond the base Console Edition.

ICARUS: Console Edition is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
